Alison grew up on her family’s working dairy and sheep farm. Her dad Cecil milked the dairy herd while her mum Audrey ran all other maters relating to the business. In the tree lined field next to the farm’s milking parlour was a five van CL Caravan Club site. The site is still in use and popular with both first time guests and especially with returning ‘regulars’. The location of the farm has proven to be the ideal place to get away and relax.
When Alison’s parents retired from farming, work soon began to convert one of the redundant agricultural buildings. Planning permission was granted to convert the farm’s mill and feed store into a home for Alison and Ian and construction was completed in 2016.
Soon after moving in they realised the potential of the adjacent barn as a holiday home, with its peaceful location and pleasant outlook. Work began early in 2019 and a year later Walnut Tree Barn was completed.
